When does Love Island 2022 start?

LOVE Island fans are in for a treat as the start of the next series is not far away.

Insiders have told The Celeb Report that producers are getting ready to start filming the hit ITV2 show.

Love Island’s start date has been revealed

When does Love Island start?

The Celeb Report exclusively revealed Love Island will kick off on Monday June 6, 2022.

It will likely start at 9pm and will air on ITV2.

After this, Love Island will air every night at the same time.

The only episode which will be different is Saturday, which is always a highlights show.

An insider told us: “Love Island is coming back with a bang and it will begin on the second full week in June.

“The schedules are being put together now and fans can expect a long, hot summer of fun from the villa from June 6.

“Filming for the promotional adverts is beginning in the next couple of weeks and the ads will start in May.

“This series is going to be the longest ever and it’s from a brand new location so it’s all very exciting.”

A spokesman for Love Island said: “It is too early to confirm scheduling for the 2022 series.”

Love Island, which first started in June 2015, is still a massive hit and is the most popular show for 16 to 34-year-olds.

Who is in the 2022 villa?

The Celeb Report revealed the first contestant being pursued by Love Island bosses.

Beautician Sophie Draper, 22, dated Aston Villa right-back Matty Cash for four years prior to their sudden split last year and has now met with ITV chiefs who think she is the “perfect fit” for the dating show.

A TV source said: “Sophie is a gorgeous girl who is really driven and determined to succeed.

“She has her own beauty salon and already leads a jet set lifestyle, which she likes showing off on Instagram, so she wouldn’t be fazed by being on TV.

“Love Island bosses think she could be a good fit for the show, it’s early days still but she definitely has potential.

“Matty will be pretty shocked to see her looking for love on TV, but he publicly moved on pretty quickly.”

Who is hosting Love Island 2022?

Host Laura Whitmore is back to present the new series, after signing a £500,000 deal.

Insiders told The Celeb Report of her mega-money contract: There has been lots of speculation that Laura might be stepping down, or that other presenters were being lined up for the role.

“Laura and show executives always hoped she would re-sign — it was just a case of making sure timings worked.

“She is excited to be going back to the villa and seeing what dramas unfold.”
