When does The Games start on ITV?

THE Games on ITV will see 12 celebrities compete in a series of Olympic style challenges.

The star-studded cast includes reality TV stars such as Olivia Attwood and footballers such as Chelcee Grimes. Here’s when the games will begin.

When does The Games start on ITV?

ITV is yet to provide an official statement regarding the start date for The Games.

The release of the show was first announced back in December 2020 and was set to be released in 2021 which did not happen.

Originally titled The Real Games, the show was commissioned for ITV by Nicola Lloyd, Commissioning Editor, and Sue Murphy, Head of Factual Entertainment.  

Nicola shared a statement with ITV saying: “Obviously 2021 is going be a big year for sport events but for entertainment in a sporting setting, look no further than the real games.

“With a host of famous faces taking part we’re expecting big names, huge events and gold -medal winning egos.

“We’re delighted to have Holly along with Freddie guiding us through, joined by Alex and Chris and we’ll be revealing more about the competitors in the lead up to the show. We can’t wait for the fun and games to begin.”  

What is The Games?

ITV’s new show The Games will see celebrities competing in a series of games with the hopes of being crowned top of the medals table.

The show will see six male and six female competitors compete in the athletics arena, the swimming pool, gymnasium and velodrome.

Each contestant will participate in activities such as a 100-meter sprint and diving in order to climb the medals table.

Who is taking part in The Games?

Coronation Street’s Colson Smith and Ryan Thomas, former Strictly star Kevin Clifton, Max George, Love Island’s Wes Nelson and Harry Potter actor Josh Herdman will all compete in the ITV competition.

The female stars include Emmerdale’s Rebecca Sarker, newsreader Lucrezia Millarini, songwriter and footballer Chelcee Grimes, Love Island’s Olivia Attwood, model Phoenix Brown, and model Christine McGuinness.

Former professional footballer Alex Scott will star on the show as a trackside reporter alongside fellow football star and presenter Chris Kamara who will appear as a commentator.

The show will be hosted by This Morning’s Holly Willoughby and sportsman Freddie Flintoff.
