When is the Masterchef: The Professionals 2020 festive special on TV?

MASTERCHEF is pulling out all the stops this festive season.

Not only do we have a Celebrity MasterChef special to watch this Christmas, but BBC have announced a special edition of MasterChef: The Professionals! Here’s what you can expect from the show…

Old finalists will return to the MasterChef kitchen for a festive special

When is the MasterChef: The Professionals 2020 festive special on TV?

MasterChef: The Professionals A Festive Knockout will be heading to our screens in that serene period between Christmas and New Year.

And we’re being treated to two full episodes.

They will air on Tuesday 29 December and Wednesday 30 December at 8PM.

2019 finalist Olivia Burt will feature in the second special

Who is on the show?

It goes without saying that our favourite MasterChef Professionals judges will be returning to judge the festive-themed competition.

Marcus Wareing, Monica Galetti and Gregg Wallace will all be assessing the quality of the contestants’ dishes.

The contestants will all be returning finalists (and one semi-finalist) from previous series – and four will go head to head on each episode.

In the first programme, we will see Danny Parker (finalist 2014), Louisa Ellis (finalist 2017), Marianne Lumb (finalist 2009) and William Chilila (semi-finalist 2018) return to the heat of the MasterChef kitchen.

The contestants will be given one of Marcus or Monica’s fiendish skills tests

The second special will feature: Steve Barringer (finalist 2011), Exose Grant Lopo-Ndiga (finalist 2019), Oli Martin (finalist 2018) and Olivia Burt (finalist 2019).

The returning chefs will have to reckon with one of Monica and Marcus challenging skills tests.

In the first special, Monica asks the experienced chefs to come up with an impressive Festive Canapé.

In the second, Marcus challenges the chefs to invent a dish inspired made from Christmas leftovers.

As usual, the chefs will then take on the signature dish portion of the episode, in which they must create a festive two-course menu in two-and-half hours.

Ready, set, cook!

Marcus, Monica and Gregg will all back to judge the talented chefs

What channel is it on?

In line with the current series’ move to BBC One, the festive specials will be shown on BBC One at 9PM.

Like all BBC programmes, the episodes will be available to watch on BBC iPlayer after they’ve aired.
