DETECTIVE series Endeavour is finally coming to an end on ITV.
Here we take a look at where the ninth and final series was filmed.
Endeavour returns for one last time
Where is Endeavour filmed?
Endeavour returns to our screens for a final outing.
Most of the filming for the ninth series was done in Oxford and Buckinghamshire.
In May 2022, fan site Premiere Date said: “Hey, guys! Great news for Endeavour fans as Series nine is finally confirmed!
“Filming of new episodes is scheduled for May and will take place in Buckinghamshire, and in Oxford with Christ Church, Magdalen College and St Edmund’s Hall featuring prominently.
“The ninth season will be set in 1972 and will again be comprised of three 90-minute episodes.
“The Series 9 renewal means that Endeavour will break the so-called 33-episode curse.
“You see, the other two shows – Inspector Morse and Lewis – both ended after 33 episodes, and fans have long speculated that Endeavour would meet the same fate.
“Shaun Evans and Roger Allam will both be back to reprise their lead roles”.
Can I visit Oxford and the Endeavour set?
Oxford is a popular town for Brits and foreigners alike to visit.
In February 2020 a new tour was launched to take fans of the Endeavour around the city to some of the most recognisable filming locations.
The tour includes a visit to various Oxford colleges – a list that changes daily, depending on which ones are open – as well as the main locations of the Endeavour filming set.
Fans additionally get plenty of behind-the-scenes anecdotes from the guide.
When is Endeavour on ITV and how can I watch it?
Endeavour’s last season will kick off on Sunday, February 26 on ITV1.
The ninth series will kick off with a two-hour-long episode at 8 pm.
Mammoth founder Damien Timmer who worked on the original Inspector Morse and initiated Endeavour along with Russell Lewis showed his gratitude towards the team as he explained it would be the last season.
He said: “As Endeavour draws to a close, it’s been an honour to be a part of this incredible journey.
“I’m so proud of the remarkable cast and crew who have dedicated their time and efforts to bring the series to life over the last decade, and I’m certain that the fans will be moved by the final instalment.”
