Where is Richard Arnold and why isn’t he on GMB?

RICHARD Arnold has been the Entertainment Editor for ITV’s flagship breakfast show, Good Morning Britain, since 2014.

However, the television presenter has recently made headlines after backing ex-presenter Piers Morgan, who dramatically quit the show after publicly criticising Meghan Markle.

Richard Arnold has been a staple on the ITV morning show since 2014

Where is Richard Arnold?

Richard Arnold was conspicuous in his absence on Good Morning Britain on Monday, 8 November.

The Entertainment Editor’s disappearing act has left fans wondering if he is gone for good – especially the star’s recent comments about Good Morning Britain made headlines.

However, based on his social media, it looks like the presenter is just on a trip to California at the moment and is likely to be back soon.

Why isn’t Richard Arnold on GMB?

Although it appears that Richard is just taking a short break, the presenter has left fans worried about his future on Good Morning Britain.

In November 2021, Richard raised eyebrows after defending former Good Morning Britain presenter Piers Morgan.

The presenter shared that he had “loved” working with Morgan and thought the star “raises everyone’s game” on the show.

Piers quit the show back in March 2021 after clashing with weather presenter Alex Beresford over Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s bombshell Oprah interview.

Despite being cleared by Ofcom, it looks like Piers won’t be returning to the show anytime soon.

The show had no permanent presenters for more than six months following Morgan’s departure, but ITV have now confirmed that Richard Madeley will be stepping into the role.

Who has replaced Richard Arnold?

As far as we know, Arnold is set to be returning to Good Morning Britain after his trip to the states.

However, he set tongues wagging after cryptically responding to a tweet from his former co-worker Piers Morgan, who thanked him for his kind comments and wrote: “miss you too.”

In reply, Richard wrote: “here’s to new chapters for both of us”.
