THE Pact season 2 tells a completely new story about a family whose lives are upturned by a mysterious stranger.
Due to the change-up, the new series features some entirely different settings.

Where was The Pact season 2 filmed?
Just like the first season, season 2 of The Pact is set in Wales, on the coast.
The show’s writer Pete McTighe said one of the reasons he cast star Rakie Ayola, the only returning cast member from season 1 in a new role, was that she “is Welsh, and she was able to bring the authenticity to the story that we needed”.
Pete said that the show’s coastal setting “was important, mainly as a contrast to series one”.
However, different locations were used for the second series of The Pact.
Llantwit Major
Rakie Ayola’s character Christine lives in a house at Llantwit Major on the Bristol Channel coast.
The show’s writer Pete has spoken about the importance of the location.
Speaking to the BBC he said: “On the page and in my head it was this isolated house on the coast, which sounds easy to write and easy to find, but of course it turned out not to be.
“Our locations people did an incredible job tracking that down.
Pete added: “That house is like a private refuge, this atmospheric, mysterious, slightly claustrophobic sanctuary.
“It’s almost like something from a ghost story, which is appropriate because the family is kind of haunted in a way by what has happened to one of their own.
“They pulled a rabbit out of the hat when they found that house. It’s exactly what was in my head.”
Penarth pier
Penarth Pier and the cafe that sits on the pier were used for filming The Pact.
Actress Rakie Ayola told WhatToWatch.com: “I grew up in Ely, which is West Cardiff, and when I was a kid, we would go to Barry Island a lot, but we never made it down to Penarth, which is just a few miles further down the road.
“We filmed a lot of this in Penarth and Penarth pier, which is lovely and I never knew it existed.
“Working there was a real eye-opener for me and it filled me with joy, but also sadness, because I realised it could have been my childhood. I don’t know why my parents didn’t take us there more when we were kids!”
Barry
In The Pact, Will and Samantha’s house was filmed in Marine Drive in Barry.
This part of Wales became famous when it was used for filming Gavin & Stacey.
Fans of the show will remember that Stacey and her family lived in Barry.
Port Talbot
Megan’s wedding in The Pact was filmed in Port Talbot.
Also scenes at Liam’s grave were shot in the area’s Margam Park.
Port Talbot is a town that is situated on the east side of Swansea Bay.
Where was The Pact season 1 filmed?
Rhymney Brewery
The Rhymney Brewery in Pontypool is a key location in the series.
It’s where characters Anna, Nancy, Louie, Cat, and Tish work.
The historic brewery is still open to visitors and produces ale in the Welsh Valleys.
Merthyr Tydfil
Another beautiful location that the series was filmed at is Merthyr Tydfil popular for its valleys and hills.
Scottish actress Laura Fraser who plays lead character Anna said the locations were “beautiful” and that she “absolutely loved” Wales.
She told Wales Online: “We got to see some of the Welsh scenery in places around Merthyr Tydfil.
“We filmed in two different woods, which were stunning and then most of the other locations were in the studio.
“We did get to see the countryside but unfortunately not as much as I wanted to. It’s absolutely beautiful and to me, parts of it look very much like Scotland.”
Cardiff
A big part of filming took place in the Welsh capital.
Julie Hesmondhalgh who plays Nancy in The Pact told the outlet that the dramatic Welsh landscape played an important role in the story.
She added that she took full advantage of filming in Cardiff, using Sofia Gardens and Bute Park for her daily walks.
“My favourite thing to do has been hiring a bike and cycling down to the Bay or up to Castell Coch along the Taff Trail through Llandaff Fields,” she added.
“It’s such a cycle-friendly city with unbelievable amounts of green space, that I could enjoy even in lockdown.”
When is The Pact on TV?
Season 2 kicks off on BBC One TONIGHT (October 24, 2022) at 9pm.
