Who are the members of the OCG on Line of Duty?

The OCG is a multi-faceted criminal operation made up of criminals and civilians and bent coppers.

Due to some group members donning balaclavas, they were given the name ‘balaclava men’.

Tommy Hunter

Known later as Alex Campbell, Tommy Hunter was placed under witness protection.

As well as being a paedophile, he was the leaders of the organised crime syndicate operating in the city.

It was revealed in series 6 that he was Joanne Davidson’s uncle and father.

Tommy suffered full-body burns in an ambush and was later murdered by Jeremy Cole in hospital.

Matthew “Dot” Cottan

Matthew Cottan was a detective inspector and criminal operative within Central Police.

 Cottan worked as a golf caddy for Tommy Hunter at the Edge Park Golf Club, which earned him the nickname “The Caddy”.

Induced into the criminal underworld at a young age, he was groomed into joining Central Police so he could act as their mole from the inside.

Jackie Laverty

Jackie was a property developer and love interest of DCI Tony Gates.

She was responsible for getting Tony his first flat in the 1990s. She became associated with Tommy Hunter and the Organised Crime Syndicate.

She allowed them to use various properties to launder their dirty money.

Terry Boyle

Terry Boyle is a vulnerable adult with Downs Syndrome and was exploited by the organised crime syndicate.

He was originally shown in Series 1, later again in Series 2 and as the main suspect in a murder inquiry during Series 6.

DS John Corbett

John Corbett was a Detective Sergeant in Central Police, who operated deep undercover in the Organised Crime Group.

He was killed by Officer Ryan Pilkington who slit his throat when his cover was blown towards the end of series five.

Marcus Thurwell

Marcus Thurwell was a former Detective Chief Inspector in Central Police, who had links to the Organised Crime Group. He later retired and relocated to Spain.

Thurwell’s name is seen on various pieces of paperwork related to the investigation into child sex abuse at Sands View Boys Home.

After a raid on his home by Spanish authorities, Thurwell and his wife were found dead at the property.
