SAS Who Dares Win is finally coming to an end after a long and intensive journey.
Many have quit the competition – leaving just five remaining. Let’s take a look…
Who are the Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins final contestants?
Ore Oduba
The television presenter and former Strictly Come Dancing champion is one of the final competitors to make it to the final.
He has since mentioned that after filming SAS Who Dares Wins, he has been left with an element of PTSD.
Speaking to Metro.co.uk, Ore said: “I’ve never been through an experience like that that haunted me for days following. I remember just doing a workout at home and I felt heavy from the experience.”
“I think it’s going to be a very different experience watching the show back because it will trigger a lot of the things that we went through and found in ourselves and survived and beat or were affected by.”
Ore has made it clear that there is a team of psychologists on the show at all times, as well as an aftercare team.
James Cracknell
James, a 49-year-old Olypian, is another contestant who will be entering the final of the competition.
The athlete opened up about how he was involved in a big accentend in 2010 with a truck whilst cycling.
The Directing Staff decided to pull James for a chat after seeing how well he’d done with Alex, the former Olympian revealed how he didn’t expect it to be so “full on mentally”.
He explained: ‘For me, one of the real reasons for coming here was I feel over the past few years I’ve lost a bit of confidence and I probably backed off doing the physical things better than I could have done, and I probably wasn’t being true to myself – and that has started to get better.’
He continued to explain how the accident caused him to have frustration because of the limits that it put on him, and as a result damaged his confidence.
“The assumption with having had a serious brain injury is that that then defines the rest of my life – and you won’t be able to do that, you won’t be able to do that…”
He finished: ‘You’re left thinking the worst things about yourself, and I’ve really struggled.’
Alexandra Burke
The X Factor winner is one of the final five to make it to the competition’s final.
She has described taking part in the show as “the best decision” she has ever made.
The 33-year-old singer revealed that it had been something she had “always wanted to” participate in as the show pushes people to their limits.
Alexandra has spoken about her mental strength prior to taking part in the competition- whilst paying tribute to her mother.
“If I’m completely honest, I would rate my mental strength quite high. And that’s me being very honest and not being big-headed about it either,” the Bad Boys singer confessed,”
“My mental strength, honestly, comes from a place where I’ve seen my mum go through so many ups and downs in her life and her career,”
“I think that is where my strength comes from because I don’t have an excuse in my eyes to be anything but strong,” she explained.
Aled Davies
Aled Davies is a field athlete who was born in Bridgend, South Wales on May 24th, 1991.
In 2012 he took bronze for shot up and gold for discus in the Paralympic Games and went on to win another gold in the 2016 Rio Paralympic Games.
Speaking about taking part in Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins he said: “I’m a para-athlete, so for me, this was an opportunity to completely get as far as possible out of my comfort zone and challenge myself.”
Wes Nelson
Love Island’s star Wes Nelson has had somewhat of an emotional journey on the show after he was reduced to tears after receiving a punishment for throwing his water bottle.
The 22-year old reality star grew increasingly angry during a challenge and ended up throwing part of the equipment.
As a result, directing staff Jason Fox insisted that Wes did 20 burpees.
The See Nobody singer admitted to his 1.6 million fans that the course itself was exactly as hard as it looks on the screen. He went on to explain how he “hated” Ant Middleton for all the hard work he got him to go through.
He revealed on his Instagram stories how emotional and physically draining the competition is, he writes: “I’ve never been so humbled in my life! It broke me down, built me up and completely changed me as a person. I couldn’t be more grateful!”.
