THE 30th season of the popular show is underway, and longtime fans of the show are familiar with all of the judges.
The 2021 Dancing with the Stars judges have been part of show since it began in 2005.
Who are the Dancing with the Stars Judges?
Len Goodman
The 77-year-old judge is from England. He started dancing at the age of 19 and went on to compete professionally. Len won several awards, including the Carl Alan Award.
He served as a head judge on the show, Strictly Come Dancing, from 2004 until 2016.
Len has also served as the head judge of Dancing with the Stars, since it began in 2005. He only missed the last season, due to Covid-19 travel restrictions.
He is married to Sue Barrett, and shares a son named James William Goodman with ex-girlfriend Lesley. He was previously married to Cherry Kingston.
Carrie Ann Inaba
The 53-year-old judge is from Honolulu Hawaii, and originally started her career as a singer in Japan. After releasing three singles, she returned to the US and began her dancing career.
Carrie Ann was one of the first Fly Girls, who were backup dancers on the Living In Color TV series. She went on to perform with notable dancers at concerts for David Bowie, Prince, and she agreed to shave her head in order to star as the solo dancer during Madonna‘s 1993 Girlie Show World Tour.
The dancer appeared as a judge on every season of Dancing with the Stars since it launched in 2005.
Carrie Ann has never been married. However, she was engaged twice, to Jesse Sloan and Robb Derringer, and once dated Russian dancer Artem Chigvintsev.
Bruno Tonioli
The 65-year-old judge is an Italian ballroom and Latin dancer, choreographer, and television personality. He was born in Italy, and has lived in London since 1975.
Bruno choreographed stage shows, music videos, and tours for several well known artists, including the Rolling Stones, Elton John, Freddie Mercury, and Tina Turner.
Like Len, Bruno also starred as a judge on the show Strictly Come Dancing. He stepped down from his role in 2021.
Bruno is gay and has not been married.
Derek Hough
The 36-year-old judge is from Salt Lake City, Utah, and is a professional choreographer, Latin and ballroom dancer, actor, and singer.
When he was 12, his parents sent him to London to live with two dance coaches. He stayed for 10 years, and was trained in many forms of dance, theatre, and song.
This is Derek’s second season being a judge on Dancing with the Stars. However, he competed as a professional dancer on the show from 2007 to 2016, winning the competition six times.
Derek has been dating professional dancer Hayley Erbert since 2015.
