The family history series is now in its eighteenth year, and sees celebs discover more about their past.
Who is in the Who Do You Think You Are? 2021 lineup?
Josh Widdicome
Josh found out on the show that King Henry the VIII was his 23 times great-grandfather.
The Last Leg funnyman also discovered he is descended from Edward I.
His link to Henry VIII is through a distant great nan, said to be the king’s illegitimate daughter.
Josh said on in TV’s Who Do You Think You Are?: “To say it’s exceeded my expectations is the understatement of a lifetime.
“I was just expecting a couple of farmers. It’s proper blue blood, isn’t it?”
His show aired on October 12, 2021.
Dame Judi Dench
Movie Star Dame Judi explores her father Reginald’s history.
She reveals how he never spoke of his experiences during the First World War.
Travelling further into her family history, Judi’s investigations lead her to Denmark and nobility, where to her delight she discovers some incredible Shakespearean links.
The actress’ show airs on October 19, 2021.
Alex Scott
Alex explores the Jewish ancestry on her mother’s side and learns that her great grandad faced down fascism in London’s East End in 1936.
She travels to Jamaica to uncover history on the other side of the family and learns of tremendous hardship and suffering.
Alex is horrified to find her 4x great grandfather Robert Francis Coombs was a slave owner with over two dozen people captive at his huge property in Jamaica.

Ed Balls
Former politician Ed will uncover an heroic story when he looks into the life of an assistant ship’s surgeon, but the grim reality isn’t quite what he was hoping for.
However, he uncovers a more inspiring story when investigating the life of an ancestor who lived through the agricultural depression of the 1820s.
Pixie Lott
Pixie Lott hopes to find the truth of the family story – that she has Italian ancestry from Verona – but the reality isn’t quite what she was searching for.
She also learns of her great grandfather’s harrowing experiences in the First World War, along with discovering musical genes on her mother’s side of the family.
Joe Lycett
Comedian and presenter Joe discovers a darker family history.
He finds out that his two-times-great grandfather was a boy chimney sweep in the 1850s.
He later joined the Royal Marines and travelled the world, but struggled to process his experiences.
Joe Sugg
Strictly star Joe enlists help from his big sister and fellow YouTuber Zoella to explore their family tree.
They discover a great-great-great grandfather who was involved in the earliest days of communication by telegraph.
Plus they learn about their ancestors who fled religious persecution in France, and a relative who survived the Great Fire of London.

The show airs Tuesday nights at 9pm on BBC One.
The 2021 series will run for seven epiosdes.
