Who is Alex Webb, MasterChef: The Professionals 2020 winner?

MASTERCHEF: The Professionals contestant Alex Web impressed the judges enough to win the 2020 show.

The young, ambitious chef has risen through the ranks since starting out as a pot washer in his local restaurant. Here’s his story.

Who is Alex from MasterChef?

Alex Webb is a head chef working in Dunmow, Essex.

The 25-year-old chef knew he wanted to work in a kitchen from an early age.

He started at his local restaurant Square One at just 14, washing pots.

His career has gone full circle – and Alex is now head chef at that same restaurant.

Alex says that French cuisine is his favourite, but he is also partial to Asian flavours.

What has he said about winning the show?

Alex said: “It is the best feeling I have ever had in my life. To walk away with the trophy is incredible. I am so proud.”

“I can’t wait to cook and show you all what I can do.”

He added: “I want to enjoy the moment and make the most of all
the opportunities which may be out there.

“I have lots of ideas for a book and I really enjoyed the experience of being in front of the camera so would like to look into any chances there may be to do more of this.

“I will continue to work in the restaurant I do now, and I would like to keep learning and pushing myself.

“Then, hopefully one day, I will be able to achieve my big dream of owning my own restaurant.”

Alex has staged at Hélène Darroze and Heston Dinner.

He has also worked at Roux at Parliament Square and The Frog in Hoxton.
