Who is Big Brother castmate Farida?

Meet Farida, the make-up artist from Wolverhampton

Big Brother has returned with a fresh batch of housemates, and one of them is Farida, a 50-year-old make-up artist from Wolverhampton. Farida has previously talked about her work, revealing that she started her business with the help of The Princes' Trust 22 years ago, where she even had the opportunity to put henna on Prince Charles when he was the Prince of Wales. Her work takes her to various locations, from hotel rooms to car parks or campsites, to cater to travellers' make-up needs.

A familiar face on TV

Farida is no stranger to the small screen. She previously made an appearance on the game show Blankety Blank. Now, she is stepping into the highly-anticipated social experiment that is Big Brother, with a mission to challenge stereotypes about Muslim women. Farida wants to use her presence on the show to show viewers that Muslim women are not suppressed. "A lot of people think that wearing a headscarf might stop you from having opportunities, whereas for me, it's been completely the opposite," she said. "I want to let people know that us Muslims, we really aren't suppressed."
