Tyler Perry is the writer, producer and director of Sistas

You may recognise Tyler Perry from his numerous appearances in feature films Alex Cross (2012), Gone Girl (2014) and Vice (2018).

He also starred in the recent satirical comedy, Don’t Look Up, which is now one of Netflix’s most-watched movies ever.

Tyler is also the writer, producer and director of Sistas, which premiered in 2019, in the same year as the opening of the $250 million Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, Georgia.

His plays, films and sitcoms, based on the themes of typical African-American households, are very popular for their dramatization and satirical tones.

KJ Smith

KJ Smith is a multifaceted US actor, trailblazing her own pathway while portraying strong female characters.

Smith recently appeared as Deborah in Netflix #1 Suspense Thriller, Fatal Affair alongside Nia Long and Omar Epps.

She plays Andrea “Andi” Barnes a successful divorce attorney and the voice of common sense for the group but starts a relationship with a married man.

The show follows her navigating her complicated love life with the help and advice of her close-knit girlfriends.

Ebony Obsidian

Ebony Obsidian briefly studied journalism before her first series regular role in the Daytime Emmy nominated digital show Tough Love.

She is often recognized for her role as Michelle in the Thanksgiving episode of Netflix’s Master of None Season 2.

Ebony stars as Karen Mott a hair salon owner in a complicated relationship as well as the love interest of a newly separated, married man.

Karen is the “tough love” girl of her “sistas” group and tired of being mistreated by men, she begins reevaluating the relationships in her life.

Mignon Von

Mignon started her movie production career as a production assistant in 2013 before becoming an actress and is known for her work on 42 Seconds and Sister Code.

She stars as Danni, the “ride or die” girl who tends to be very involved with everyone else’s business but her own.

Danni is an unbiased supporter of the group and works in customer service at the airport.

Novi Brown

Novi Brown is an actress, known for Spider, Sleeping with My Student and Sistas, and is a famous social media influencer.

She plays Sabrina Hollins who works as a bank teller and is asked out by one of her customers.

Sabrina is supportive of her girls and is the peacemaker of the group.

What happened in Sistas season 3?

Across its past three seasons, the show has attracted viewers with its focus on the exciting stories and complex love lives of four young women and their friends and romantic partners.

In season three Zac confessed to Fatima that he could be the father of Karen’s new unborn child.

Andi spent a passionate night with Austin Scott’s Robin after a few drinks but would be confronted by Gary aftwerwards.

Danni got together with Dion Rome’s El Fuego, and Fatima embraced her darker side by having Chris Warren’s Hayden beaten up to stop him from investigating Zac’s illegal insider trading.

With season four airing on January 5, fans will get to see Andi and Sabrina dealing with their complex love lives, while Danni faces judgment from Preston for her relationship with El Fuego.

Karen will also face the challenges of her pregnancy while also getting involved with the investigation surrounding Zac and his insider trading.
