Who is Lady Loki?
Lady Loki is a female version of the God of Mischief, who appears in Disney+’s new Marvel series.
Episode 2, The Variant, sees Loki help Agent Mobius to track down another rogue variant who has been killing TVA officers.
It transpires that the variant is an alternate version of Loki, who also broke free from the Sacred timeline of events and has been causing havoc.
At the end of episode two, Loki comes face-to-face with Lady Loki.
Avid Marvel fans will know this is not the first appearance of Lady Loki.
In the comic books, Lady Loki emerges after Loki takes over a human female body.
In J. Michael Straczynski, Marko Djurdjevic, and Olivier Coipel’s 2008 Thor series, Loki shapeshifts into villain known as Lady Loki.
However, Marvel are notorious for their plot twists – so it could be the case that this new character is merely Lady Loki in disguise.
Will Loki and Lady Loki get together?
If they do, it might be one of Marvel’s most bizarre romance stories yet.
Loki head writer Michael Waldron spoke to Vanity Fair about the new series.
“As for Lady Loki, remember the toxic-romance Black List screenplay that first got Waldron in the door at Marvel.
“Loki’s cinematic journey has been so tied up in his relationship with his brother, Thor, that he’s never had an onscreen love interest. Waldron, who still aspires to be Nora Ephron, says there certainly are some love stories running through his season.”
So – we can’t rule anything out. But if the pair get together then Loki will technically be dating himself.
Who plays Lady Loki in the Disney Plus series?
Lady Loki is played by former Casualty and Flowers star Sophia Di Martino.
The English actress has also featured in the Beatles-inspired film Yesterday.
In 2015, she appeared in post-apocalyptic AMC series Into the Badlands.
