Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen was born in Kensington, London, in 1965, and grew up nearby.
He attended the University of the Arts London, where he was awarded a degree in Fine Art.
After graduating Laurence headed into Interior Design, before eventually founding his own art consultancy in 1989.
Though successful in his field, it wasn’t until the early 2000s that Laurence became known to the public, when he scored a gig presenting then-BBC Two show Changing Rooms in 2003.

In 2009, he appeared on ITV’s The House Gift and a year later he joined Popstar To Operastar as a critic alongside rock legend Meatloaf.
He appeared as a judge on The Apartment, where contestants competed for a luxury apartment in central Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
It meant he found fame in Australia and Asia.
He was also cast as a judge on Aussie TV series House Rules.
Laurence has fronted many shows including World’s Greatest Hotels and My Lottery Dream Home International.
Laurence has also pitched in as a designer on Nick Knowles‘ DIY SOS.
He’s dabbled in artwork on Celebrity Painting Chanel and in 2022 appeared on Pilgrimage alongside Nick Hewer and Scarlett Moffatt.
In 2021 he became the only returning star from the original BBC Changing Rooms, after his former co-star Carole Smillie was snubbed by the reboot.
Speaking to The Celeb Report, the 57-year-old revealed that coming back to the UK was a bit of an adjustment: “In Asia I’ve got about 130 million viewers and it’s all about my guyliner, and it’s all about my backlighting and it’s a huge crew.
“I don’t move without 300 people in an entourage.”
Who is Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen married to?
Jackie Bowen married Laurence in 1989.
The couple reportedly met when they were both just 19 years old and have been in a relationship ever since.
The pair tied the knot on June 24, 1989 and went on to have two daughters together, Cecile and Hermione, in the 90s.
The family now resides in a Grade-II listed manor near the village of Siddington in Gloucestershire.
Their two daughters, their partners and their grandchildren now reside with him and Jackie.
