AMBER ANDERSON is almost unrecognisable in her new role in the final season of Peaky Blinders.
She told fans she would star in the British gangster show via an Instagram post.
Who is Amber Anderson?
Amber, 29, was born in Shepton Mallet, near Glastonbury in Somerset, but she moved to Scotland at the age of six.
She’s always had a passion for music and performance – Amber studied at the Aberdeen City Music School and plays piano and violin to grade 8 and 7 respectively. She also sings jazz.
When she was 16, Amber auditioned for both the drama and music scholarships at the Gordonstoun School.
Both departments wanted her but they could only give out one scholarship – that being the case, they invented an award for her (Performing Arts Scholarship) so she could attend.
In 2017, she called out Harvey Weinstein in an Instagram post.
She accused the disgraced producer of inappropriate behaviour and harassing her for a personal relationship, contributing to the #MeToo movement.
She has also featured in adverts for fashion brands Burberry, Chanel and Kenzo and walked the catwalk for Dior, Jean Paul Gautier and more.
What films and TV shows has she been in?
Her earliest role was in 2011’s Your Highness but it was in 2013 that she began to gain popularity.
Amber appeared in the third series of satirical show Black Mirror in the political episode The Waldo Moment.
Since then she went on to a series of short films and the Oxford university set, The Riot Club (2014).
On TV, in 2017, she appeared in series one of Strike, an adaptation of J.K Rowling’s detective series under the pseudonym Robert Gailbraith.
She won Best Supporting Actress in a Canadian Film from the Vancouver Film Critic’s Circle for her role in White Lie (2019).
More recently she has gone on to star in 2020’s adaptation of Jane Austen novel Emma.
She will take on the role of Diana Mitford in the sixth and final series of Peaky Blinders.
Is Amber Anderson married?
Amber is not currently married and appears to be single.
She and singer Paolo Nutini were in an on/off relationship for some time before she called it quits for good.
They originally met in 2014 on the set of his music video for song Diana where they were snogging in a bath.
They had split in March 2016 but got back together just three months later after Paolo declared: “Life is s**t without you.”
The romance slowly fizzled out though before Amber moved on completely and began dating Rizzle Kicks singer Jordan Stephens.
Her romance with Jordan ended and he began dating Jade Thirlwall publicly.
Amber has not been spotted on any dates since this break up in 2019.
