DEATH In Paradise is back for a new season 11 with more murder and mayhem.
One of the new cast members joining the show for 2022 is rising star Shantol Jackson.
Who is Shantol Jackson?
Shantol is a 28-year-old Jamaican actress who is just starting out in her career.
Her acting credits so far include starring in the 2018 film Sprinter, alongside Usain Bolt.
Shantol also starred in Yardie in 2017, which was directed by Idris Elba.

It is not known if Shantol is dating someone, or is currently single.
She was rumored to be dating fellow Jamacian actor Akeem Mignott,.
However, Shantol has denied this is true.
Who does Shantol play in Death In Paradise?
Shantol plays Naomi Thomas, who is a brand new character for season 11.
She is described as an ambitious young sergeant who has been brought onto the Saint Marie police force.
Reprising their roles are series regulars Ralf Little as D.I. Neville Parker, Josephine Jobert as D.S Florence Cassell, Don Warrington as Commissioner Selwyn Patterson, Tahj Miles as Officer Marlon Pryce and Elizabeth Bourgine as Mayor Catherine Bordey.
What has Shantol said about starring Death In Paradise?
Shantol has revealed she grew up watching the popular crime series.
Talking about her role, she told the BBC: “I’m so grateful for this amazing opportunity to join the cast of this fun-filled, entertaining series.
“I used to watch Death in Paradise with my dad in Jamaica years ago when it just started and to now be in the show, knowing that he’ll be watching me, it’s truly a surreal moment.

When is Death In Paradise on the BBC?
Death In Paradise returns to our screens TONIGHT (January 7, 2022).
The first episode of season 11 will air at 9pm on BBC One.
The season will compromise of eight episodes, with the season finale scheduled to air on February 25.
