Sir Blayke is one of the singers competing to become the next champion of American Idol.
Growing up in Chicago, Illinois, the 28-year-old now resides in Los Angeles as a singer, songwriter, and producer.
As an openly gay man, Sir Blayke’s sexuality has caused issues in some of his personal relationships.
In fact, his father kicked him out of the house after finding out about his sexuality.

In his audition, Sir Blayke revealed that he was homeless while he was pursuing a music career in Atlanta.
He said: “I was an intern at a studio and didn’t nobody know I was homeless. I literally would go to sleep on a bench.”
Sir Blayke revealed that he got a gym membership just so he would be able to shower.
Since moving to Los Angeles, he said: “I’m still struggling, but I’m happy with what I have so far.”
During his audition, the judges were hesitant to give Sir Blayke a yes due to his lack of confidence, with judge Luke Bryan actually saying no.
He first sang Dive by Ed Sheeran where judges could hear his nerves before Katy Perry told him to sing an original song.
Sir Blayke impressed Katy and fellow judge Lionel Richie, and assured them that he could learn quickly.
He has not disappointed them so far.

Ester Dean, known for writing hit songs for Rihanna, Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj, is Sir Blayke’s friend and mentor.
Speaking about Ester, Sir Blayke said: “Her advice has been monumental, she’s been hard on me and I love it, from Chicago, you gotta be hard on us because we’re some tough cookies, for sure.
“The best advice she ever really gave: ‘sing your story, show them your story, let them feel your story, cause we all have a story’.”
