His place in the competition was under threat after testing positive for coronavirus – but eight days later he posted a negative test for the virus, freeing him to take part.

Who is Strictly 2020 star HRVY?

HRVY is an English YouTube star, singer, dancer, and television presenter. 

Born in 1998, making him 21-years-old as Harvey Leigh Cantwell, his first single, Thank You was released in February 2013.

Cantwell was discovered after uploading videos of himself singing on to Facebook.

After being spotted by Blair Dreelan, lead singer of 90s boyband East 17!, he was signed to Universal Music. Dreelan acted as HRVY’s mentor.

HRVY started out as a guest presenter on BBC children’s entertainment show Friday Download and has been hosting the show full-time since 2015.

He was the 12th celebrity revealed as a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing 2020, where he is partnered with Janette Manrara.

When did HRVY test positive for coronavirus?

On October 1, it was revealed by The Celeb Report that HRVY had coronavirus.

The singer did not have symptoms.

However, on October 8, the singer revealed that he was finally free of coronavirus.

Taking to Instagram, he wrote: “He’s free from Covid, he’s a free elf now, tested negative, thank you for all the kind messages.

“Love you guys so much, stay safe and see you soon.”

The singer, 21, said he tested negative for the deadly bug just in time for the Strictly Come Dancing launch show.

HRVY was a support act for The Vamps on their 2018 Night & Day Arena Tour and 2019 Four Corners Arena Tour.

Who is HRVY dating?

HRVY has recently been linked to 18-year-old YouTube and TikTok star Olivia Neill.

Neill is originally from Belfast, but is currently living in London.

The pair have appeared cuddling up to each other in YouTube videos and have featured on each others’ TikTok accounts.

HRVY was previously rumoured to be dating former top TikTok star Loren Gray.

She starred in his music video for Personal, which led many to believe there was something going on between the pair.
