The beloved game show Deal or No Deal is back on TV, much to the delight of viewers. The show, which has been rebooted by ITV, follows the same format as the original Channel 4 version. As fans tune in, one question remains on their minds: who is the mysterious banker?
Who is the Banker in Deal or No Deal?
Just like in the original show, the identity of the banker is a closely guarded secret. ITV has made it clear that they will not reveal who the person on the other end of the phone making the deals really is. The new series of Deal or No Deal is currently airing weekdays at 4pm on ITV.
Is the new Banker in Deal or No Deal the same as the original person?
As it is a brand new show, there will be a brand new banker. In the original version of the game show hosted by Noel Edmonds, the identity of the Banker was kept a secret for over a decade. Viewers only knew for sure that the Banker was a man. However, there has been speculation over the years that Coronation Street actor Glenn Hugill was the man behind the mystery.
Why is Noel Edmonds not hosting the new Deal or No Deal?
Deal or No Deal originally launched on Channel 4 in 2005 and ran for 11 years before being taken off the schedule. Stephen Mulhern has been revealed as the new host of the show, taking over from Noel Edmonds. Edmonds is not involved in the reboot as he has since moved to New Zealand. Speaking about hosting the show, Mulhern expressed his excitement and said it was an honor to be the new host.
