GOSSIP Girl fans across the world rejoiced when they heard their favorite teen drama was returning with a reboot.
The show has now kicked off and despite a whole new cast, there is one MAJOR similarity to the noughties show.
Who is the voice of Gossip Girl on the 2021 reboot?
That’s right folks, Kristen Bell is back as the voice of the elusive Gossip Girl.
The actress was the original voice of the Manhattan blogger, and she narrated all the episodes that aired from 2007-2012 on The CW.
She even had a cameo in the last ever episode where she actually appeared on screen.
Of course Kristen wasn’t the REAL Gossip Girl, just the voice of the blog.
Will any of the other original Gossip Girl cast be returning?
Hearing Kristen’s voice as GG again will help fans feel more connected to the new story, but they are keen to know if anyone else will pop up.
It’s unknown if the Gossip Girl reboot will have cameo appearances from the original cast.
The story focused on Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively), Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester), Nate Archibald (Chace Crawford), Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick), and Dan Humphrey (Penn Badgley), sharing all the gossip they could get about them and their personal, social, and professional lives.
What has Kristen Bell said about Gossip Girl?
In 2020, Kristen opened up about the exciting news that she would be back narrating Gossip Girl.
Speaking to Variety she said: “A couple [of] months ago, Stephanie [Savage] and Josh [Schwatz], the creators, emailed me.
“And I couldn’t believe it. They just said, ‘We’ve got very good news. It’s looking like we’re going to do another version of Gossip Girl and we would love for you to return.’
“And I was thrilled because it was a very easy job for me. I got to come in and play around. It’s the only job I’ve never gotten notes on.”

The next batch of episodes are then being made available every Thursday over five weeks.
However, the series will be on hiatus from August 12, 2021 until the fall, when the remaining six episodes will be aired.
