She first debuted in 2015 but exited shortly after in 2018 and now fans want to know why she left.

Why did Nelle leave General Hospital?

After exiting in 2018, Nelle was seen in a few additional episodes before she allegedly fell to her death in August 2020.

At the time, she fell off a cliff and many believed she was dead, but because her body was never found, some fans thought she may still be alive.

However, fans quickly learned that her departure was real after Celebrity Dirty Laundry revealed that Chloe Lanier, who played Nelle in General Hospital, decided not to renew her contract in order to pursue new opportunities.

Is Nelle returning to General Hospital?

It has now been years since Nelle was last seen in Port Charles but in a shocking turn of events, it was announced she would be making a return in September 2022.

“See ya next week @generalhospitalabc,” she teased in an Instagram post.

Lanier later discussed the return with Soap Opera Digest, revealing that she spent days looking at videos of Nelle to prepare for her upcoming role.

“It has been two years since I had played this role. What were my speech patterns? How did I walk as Nelle? All of these things that were once so clicked-in for me, I had totally forgotten how to do, but hopefully, it translated and I was able to slip back into character the way I did before,” she explained to the media outlet.

At this time, it is unclear how long her short-term return will last, but she is scheduled to appear the week of September 5, 2022.
