Why was Sherif kicked out of Love Island?
Sherif, 20, from London, mutually agreed with bosses to leave Love Island after just nine days.
A Love Island spokesman said: “After breaking the villa rules Sherif had conversations with the producers and it was mutually agreed that he would leave the Love Island villa.”
Sherif said: “In a case of poor judgement, I broke the villa rules and as a result agreed with the producers that it was best for me to leave the villa.
“I regret that I didn’t conduct myself in the right way and, as a 20 year old guy, it’s something I know I will take on board and learn from.
“I really enjoyed my time in the villa and look forward to catching up with everyone on the outside.”
Later in the week, he revealed to The Celeb Report on Sunday he had been booted off the show for making a vile joke after accidentally kicking Molly-Mae Hague in the crotch during a play fight.
He told the publication: “I did kick Molly-Mae in the groin area but it was an accident and she 100 per cent was not injured afterwards.
“She flinched and bent over to protect herself. Then she stood up and seemed fine and we started laughing about it.
“I turned to Tommy Fury and said, ‘That was a c*** punt.’”
What Love Island rule did Sherif break?
At first it was unclear specifically what he was kicked out for, but Islander protocol includes no nudity, a ban on masturbation and the practice of safe sex.
However on June 15, Sherif exclusively revealed to The Celeb Report that he had been axed for a crude jibe at Molly-Mae Hague.
It came after he accidentally kicked her in the crotch during a play fight and called it a “c*** punt”.
Sherif said: “I have never used the word before and I realise how insulting it is to women.
“As someone raised by a strong and loving mother, I want to say that I would never intentionally offend women.
“I was completely wrong and I apologise.”
Before the details were known Sherif’s mother Diana spoke out and slammed the show’s “very unfair” treatment of her son and insists he’s “a lovely boy”.
Speaking to the MailOnline at the time, she said she had spoken to her son but doesn’t know the full story.
She added: “I don’t know the real reason yet, but I’m determined to get to the bottom of it.
“I need to look at his Love Island code of conduct and I need to speak to him properly to find out what really happened.
“But I’m his mum, I’m going to think it was a bit unfair. I think so. I’m going to defend my son.”
What has Sherif said about ITV bosses being racist?
The former contestant slammed Love Island bosses for treating him differently to other contestants.
He claimed that he may have been a victim of “unconscious racism” in the villa.
Sherif claimed: “I can’t rule out that racism was a factor here. I think there may have been some unconscious racism.
“By that I mean, the producers might not have been aware of what they were doing, but they may have had an inherent bias in their minds that caused them to act against me.
“I say this because there were so many things I was pulled aside on. The first was calling Amber ‘lighty,’ which I know is a poor choice of words but she did not get offended.
“She said people often used the same word in Newcastle, where she is from.”
Sherif added:“I was the only black guy in the villa but it did not bother me.
“I’ve always got on well with people from different backgrounds.
“But the way in which I was kicked out has left a bad taste in my mouth.”
What happened to Sherif Lanre on Love Island?

- Sherif isn’t getting on well with Anna, who has accused him of ignoring her.
- Sherif has faced some competition from Anton Danyluk who has been making a play for Anna.
- He decides to be honest with Anna and let her know his feelings for her, adding that he doesn’t want to lose her to someone else in the villa.
- Anna had the choice between Sherif and Anton and chose to couple up with Sherif, leaving a previously confident Anton red-faced.

- After nine days in the villa, Sherif and show bosses agreed he should leave the show because he broke the strict villa rules.
