GOOD Morning Britain is the staple of weekday morning telly, helping to kick start the nation’s day.

But some viewers may be wondering why the popular ITV breakfast show isn’t on today (July 21, 2023).

Why is Good Morning Britain not on today?

Fans waking up this morning will have noticed that Good Morning Britain isn’t on ITV today (July 21, 2023).

Fans were quick to take to Twitter to question why the show was off air, with one tweeting: “Not having #GMB on this morning was horrible!”

A second put: “They cancelled #gmb for women’s football?” as a third continued: “Where Is @GMB This Morning ? Never Known It To Be Off Before For Football World Cup.”

One then mused: “Why have they cancelled #GMB to show the football instead of sticking the football on ITV2?”

There is a very good reason for the popular breakfast show being cancelled.

Instead of GMB, The FIFA Women’s World Cup match between the Philippines and Switzerland was screened.

To cover the tournament, ITV has undergone a huge shake up of their daytime shows.

What other days will GMB be off air?

Expect changes to programming schedules on both ITV and the BBC throughout the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Both broadcasters are sharing the coverage of this huge sporting event which runs until August 20, 2023.

This means there will be changes to your usual daily shows all the way through the competition.

ITV has so far confirmed GMB will also be off air on the following days:

• Monday, July 24, 2023
• Tuesday, July 25, 2023
• Wednesday July 26, 2023

When will GMB return?

ITV has confirmed that Good Morning Britain will return on Thursday, July 27, 2023.

The programme will be back in its usual slot of 6am, with Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway hosting the show.

The pair are covering for GMB’s main host Susanna Reid who takes the summer holiday off to spend with her children.

She will return to the breakfast show in September 2023.
