CASUALTY didn’t air last night (October 16, 2021) – with its usual 9.30pm going to Mrs Brown’s Boys.
The popular hospital drama will be back on our screen soon.
Why isn’t Casualty on tonight?
It’s not clear why the show wasn’t on tonight but it was replaced by comedy hit Mrs Brown’s Boys.
Last year, the BBC stopped the production of Casualty, Holby City, Doctors and EastEnders amid the coronavirus outbreak.
A statement from the BBC at the time read: “In light of the spread of Covid-19, after much consideration, it has been decided that filming on all BBC Studios continuing dramas will be postponed until further notice.
“The decision was made after the latest government update. We will continue to follow the latest news and advice from the World Health Organisation and public health organisations.”
It’s not understood whether Covid restrictions are behind tonight’s missing episode.
When will Casualty be back on TV?
Casualty will return next Saturday, October 23, 2021, at its regular slot of 9.30pm.
However, fans can still watch past episodes on BBC iPlayer.
What has happened so far on series 36 of Casualty?
Next week’s episode will see Teddy ask if he and Jan can team up after being backed into a corner, leaving Sarah and Iain to group together.
The shift gets off to a rocky start when Iain accidentally misgenders Sah. Both are then shaken by their first job when they find a woman who has been dead for months.
Iain encourages Sah to talk about it but they dismiss it. They’re then sent to an elderly man who has fallen out of bed and has already been waiting two hours.
The latest episode is called Is the Patient Breathing?
