Taking to Instagram to share the news with her 63.3k followers, Megan penned: “Walking into #winterwatch like…. !!
She continued: “A quick post to wish the BBC Springwatch team all the best of luck with this series. I can’t wait to watch you all again!”
The star concluded: “Tune in tonight on BBC Two at 8pm for the very best winter wildlife. I’ll be watching – GnT in hand! M x.”
Fans were saddened by the news that she had left the show as they took to the comments section to ask if she would be returning.
One asked: “When are you going to come back to presenting on the watch again?”
A second wrote: “Miss you on the watches Megan, you were brilliant and so natural in front of the camera. I hope to see you on them in Springwatch.”
Another added: “We miss you. Wish you were hosting.”
A fourth echoed: “You will be missed a lot. Come back please!”
A fifth commented: It wont be the same without your smiley face but enjoy the G&T. “
Megan is the daughter of one of Chris’ previous partners, Jo.
