GLADIATORS’ Wolf was the long-haired baddie of the hit show, which the BBC revealed is about to return.
Famous for his ruthless nature and bone-chilling stare, the character made a star of Michael Van Wijk.

The bodybuilder – who, unlike Wolf, in reality was famously nice – was one of the most recognisable members of the cast.
However, Gladiators fans might not spot him quite so readily now, after he shaved his head.
He also swapped the UK for New Zealand to open a chain of gyms there.
As his Instagram proves, Michael remains dedicated to fitness and working out, regularly posting his clean-eating meals.
He recently posed in the gym, writing: “Just finished my arm session. Got a really good pump. I really missed that feeling.”

The star was also seen aiming a gun, telling his followers: “Went clay bird shooting yesterday.
“I was absolutely useless at hitting them as they flew through the air.
If I had to shoot prey to survive I would definitely starve LOL.”
Speaking about his Gladiators career today, he told GB News: “Let me tell you it was a wonderful time in our lives.
“I’d done a bit of acting before Gladiators and a few people would notice you. But after Gladiators it all became crazy.
“Even now when I get back home and come through the airport the custom’s guys put their thumbs up and everyone wants a photo. The recognition is still there which is nice.”
Gladiators saw members of the public battle it out against its cast of bodybuilders and gymnasts and ran for eight series.
Originally hosted by Ulrika Jonsson and John Fashanu, contestants pitted themselves against the Gladiators in a test of speed, skill, stamina and strength.
Ahead of its return, the BBC’s Kate Phillips said: “Gladiators is back and a whole new generation of viewers can now look forward to watching a Saturday night spectacle like no other.
“Will the contenders have the will and the skill to succeed against our mighty new Gladiators? You’ll have to tune in to find out!”
Filming is due to take place at Sheffield’s Utilita Arena next year.
