Worst House on the Street viewers have a BIG complaint about woman’s home makeover

VIEWERS were left with a big complaint about a woman’s home makeover during last night’s Worst House on the Street.

The latest instalment of the home makeover programme saw single mum Paula buy her first ever home.

The experts were not impressed with her plan for the bathroom

However, the house, which was purchased for £202,000 definitely was the worst on the street as she found it flooded, derelict and in serious need of repair.

The 42-year-old, who had been living with her parents and sister, had a tight budget of just £20k to turn the eyesore property around.

Paula’s plans for her bathroom left the experts, who are brother and sister duo Scarlette and Stuart Douglas, unimpressed.

The small room that was earmarked as the bathroom did not have a bath in the plans – something which the pair said was a “must in a family home”.

“We’ve had a look around and there’s a lot of potential here,” said Stuart. “But a family house needs a family bathroom – your room upstairs isn’t big enough for a family.”

Stuart did offer Paula advice and said she could turn the back room on the ground floor of the house into a utility room and a family bathroom.

“I do not like baths,” declared Paula.

Stuart asserted that if she did not have a bath it would devalue her property – and said his plans for a downstairs bathroom could add an extra £10k in value.

After works on the property were complete and the hosts returned to the completely unrecognisable home, they noticed Paula ignored their advice.

She opted to keep the bathroom upstairs – albeit with no bath.

Her decision to go against Scarlette and Stuart’s advice left viewers at home reeling.

One user took to Twitter and said: “I can’t believe after all that she didn’t put in a bath. Like how is the easiest, most simple, most logical decision gone over her head like this?”

Meanwhile, another said: “This is why she said put the f***ing bath downstairs! The room upstairs is too small ffs.”

Another fumed: “The whole point of the downstairs bathroom was to put a bath in it?? I would not buy a house with no bath especially if I had young kids.”

Fortunately for Paula the mishap with the bathroom didn’t devalue her home and she was left speechless when she was told her home was valued at a whopping £317,000.

As the mum of three started to cry, she was told the valuation meant she made a £78k profit.

Worst House on the Street airs on Channel 4 and is available on All4.
