Zoe Ball: No Plans for Love on New ITV Show Mamma Mia! I Have A Dream

Zoe Ball: No Plans for Love on New ITV Show Mamma Mia! I Have A Dream

Popular radio and television presenter Zoe Ball is set to host a brand new talent contest on ITV called Mamma Mia! I Have A Dream. While the show marks a big change from her previous role on BBC Radio 2, Zoe has made it clear that finding love is not on her agenda, unlike some contestants from similar shows in the past.

A Different Path

After ending her relationship with boyfriend Michael Reed earlier this year, Zoe has stated that she has no intention of following in the footsteps of Lee Mead, who famously met judge Denise Van Outen on the BBC show Any Dream Will Do.

Living Vicariously Through Them

Zoe may not be looking for love, but that doesn't mean she can't enjoy the magic of the show. Speaking about the contestants, she said, "To have that talent is a little bit of magic and if you have it you’re very lucky. It’s so wonderful to see them fly with that."

Hoping for Romance

Although Zoe herself may not be looking for love, she hopes that romance will blossom among the contestants. As Sophie and Sky, the show's young lovers, chemistry and a strong dynamic are essential. Zoe said, "It’s interesting because you’re obviously seeing they are looking at each other thinking, ‘Yes, you bring this to the character’. You need that chemistry."

A New Challenge

Hosting Mamma Mia! I Have A Dream is a significant departure for Zoe, as she rarely appears on television these days, especially in a prime time slot. The opportunity to work on a show she is passionate about was one she couldn't resist. She explained, "I am Mamma Mia! obsessed and absolutely love ABBA, so when I got a call asking if I would be interested I was like, yes please."

Zoe had to ask her boss for time off from her Radio 2 Breakfast Show, but luckily, her colleagues are huge ABBA and Mamma Mia! fans. Her boss, Helen Thomas, fully supported her decision to take on the new role, saying, ‘You’ve got to do it – it’ll be so much fun’.

All in all, Zoe Ball is excited about this new chapter in her career and is looking forward to the fun and excitement that Mamma Mia! I Have A Dream will bring. Set your calendars, as this prime time show is not to be missed!
