Prince William met with the England Women’s team last month

England got their campaign underway against Haiti with the Prince tweeting the team before the match.

He wrote: “Good luck @Lionesses we’re all cheering you on!”

In response a fan down under asked William if he will be making the trip to Australia to watch the team live.

They asked: “Will you be cheering on from the stands ???? Hope HRHs come to Australia for a World Cup we would love to see you!”

It remains to be seen whether William will travel to watch the World Cup – but he is an avid fan.

He met with the Lionesses at St George’s Park last month and praised the European champions for “achieving so much and inspiring so many”.

Last year the Prince embraced many of the squad as they won Euro 2022, beating Germany in the final.

He hugged players as they received their medals, looking absolutely delighted as he did so.

Captain Leah Williamson revealed HRH told the squad how proud he was of their achievement.

Princess Charlotte is also a big fan and sent the team a good luck message ahead of the Euros.

Sarina Wiegman’s side got off to a dream start by beating Haiti – they take on Denmark and China next in Group D.
