THEY might live in swanky palaces, but it seems even royals just want a home they can put their stamp on.

Princess Beatrice is set to leave the crown estates for a home she and her husband own – where they can raise their daughter in total privacy.

The couple has bought a family home in the stunning Cotswolds

The royal couple purchased a sprawling farmhouse in the Cotswolds for £3.5million two years ago, which they have been renovating since.

It boasts six bedrooms and they’re even turning an outhouse into a swanky new guest house – just in case they needed any more space.

They reportedly also have plans for a party barn for entertaining, as well as a six-foot security fence around their property for total privacy.

Since their marriage in 2020, Princess Beatrice, 34, and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, 39, have lived in a four-bed apartment in St James’s Palace.

The couple has kept the interior of their London home private and are expected to do the same with their country pile.

Family visits

Princess Beatrice has been close to her family and that won’t change with the move

For the past two years, they have been close to Princess Beatrice’s extended family, and will likely want to entertain them at their new home when they finally make the move.

But they won’t be too far from relatives as Edoardo’s mum lives close by.

They will also have the benefits of their own swimming pool and tennis courts as part of their home – not something readily available on the royal estates.

Their new home also has a sweet stream running past it.

According to the Daily Mail, they’ll be living close to Prince Harry’s polo pal George Spencer-Churchill and his wife Camilla.

The Churchills’ ancestral home Blenheim Palace is just up the road from their new house.

They’ll also be close to David and Victoria Beckham’s swanky home as well as Ellie Goulding.

The family then moved to the Royal Lodge in Windsor

Princess Beatrice is used to country living having grown up since 2004 in the Royal Lodge, part of the Windsor Castle estate.

She lived there with her father Prince Andrew, 62, little sister Princess Eugenie, 32, and from 2008, her mum Sarah Ferguson, 63.

Before the family moved in, Prince Andrew paid for £7.5million of renovations to bring it up to par. It had previously been the home of the Queen Mother.

The Royal Lodge boasts 30 rooms, a large conservatory, and several large gilded rooms.

It also sits on 98 acres and comes with other smaller cottages that are also leased by Prince Andrew as part of the agreement.

Swanky bachelor pad

Prior to marrying Princess Beatrice, Edoardo lived in a grade-II listed bachelor pad in Bayswater, central London.

His former home is available to rent for £4,450 a month and overlooks Hyde Park.

Inside, it has a mezzanine bedroom, a stunning kitchen with floor-to-ceiling glass Crittall doors, and an open-plan living and dining area.

The property, which is owned by Edoardo’s company – who also renovated it – used to be the home of Alexander Murray, 8th Earl of Dunmore.

On his Instagram, the royal husband gushed bout the building writing: “I love the heritage and history of old buildings and the fact that each and every one is different, there’s a genuine authenticity in that.”

It has two dining rooms and multiple bedrooms

The couple’s new Cotswold home means Princess Beatrice won’t be too far from her parents or sister Princess Eugenie who is living in Frogmore Cottage.

If things get too dull in the UK, the couple has Edoardo’s family villa in Italy to escape to for a private holiday.

Villa Mapelli Mozzi in Ponte San Pietro is just an hour’s drive away from Lake Como and was built in the 18th century.

It boasts 13 bedrooms, two libraries, a stunning outdoor pool, and 18,000 square feet of space.

It also has a 10-bed sister villa in the nearby village of Casatenovo which royal fans can rent on Airbnb.

The luxurious home has hand-painted doorways and regal chandeliers and even boasts two dining rooms – plus a gorgeous Billiards room.

Outside it sits in an English countryside park with a swimming pool and fruit trees.
