MEGHAN Markle and Prince Harry donated diapers, supplies, and other items in celebration of Mother’s Day.
The couple donated those supplies to Harvest Home, an organization that caters to homeless pregnant women and their babies.
“Today, we are thrilled to have the support of Archewell Foundation, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and Procter & Gamble, who are donating diapers, cleaning supplies, and other essential items to ensure that the moms and babies at Harvest Home are celebrated all throughout the year,’ the caption of the post reads,” the organization said on Instagram.
The Instagram announcement included a letter from Markle who hailed the organization’s work.
“As a mom, and an expectant mom, I deeply appreciate the significance of community support, safe and accessible pregnancy resources, and trusted guidance in a nurturing setting,” Markle said. “These ingredients are essential to not just our physical health, but our mental well-being, and I commend you for leading a compassionate community that lives these values.
“When we consider how vulnerable any mother feels during the fragile time of pregnancy, we gain perspective about how especially difficult it can be for pregnant women of color and those who come from under-resourced and vulnerable communities,” she added.
Earlier, Markle posed in bling worth £25,000 as she showed off her baby bump for the first time.
The Duchess of Sussex, whose jewellery included a women’s power necklace, cradled her tum on a US celeb TV fundraiser.
She told how she and Prince Harry were thrilled to be having a girl in an address to highlight how Covid-19 has “disproportionately affected” women.
Meghan, 39, on a bench at her £11million Montecito home in California, wore Princess Diana’s £17,800 Cartier watch, a £5,000 Cartier love bracelet and a £2,361 gold bracelet.
Her £100 women’s power charm necklace combines the female Venus symbol with a protesting fist plus a protective stone, and is said to symbolise “abundance and enlightenment”.
The recorded speech, for the Vax Live event, was the first time she had been seen since issuing allegations against the Royal Family in an Oprah Winfrey interview in March.
“My husband and I believe it’s critical our recovery prioritises the health, safety and success of everyone, and particularly women, who have been disproportionately affected.”
“Women, especially women of colour, have seen a generation of economic gain wiped out.”
Meghan added that when the pair thought of their new daughter, they “think of young women around the globe who must be given the support to lead us forward.”
