Meghan Markle’s palace nicknames revealed in explosive biography as staff ‘left reeling by duchess’ demands’

PALACE staff left “reeling” by Meghan Markle’s demands labelled her the “Duchess of Difficult”, an explosive new biography reveals.

Furious aides dubbed her “Di 2” just weeks after she was introduced to the Royal Family, author Tom Quinn alleges.

Meghan reportedly had a contentious relationship with courtiers

He claims staff turned against Meghan after finding she was the “dominant partner” in her relationship with Harry, the Daily Star reports.

And in new book Kensington Palace: An Intimate Memoir from Queen Mary to Meghan Markle, he says she was privately referred to by a series of “unflattering nicknames”.

“As Harry has said himself: ‘What Meghan wants, Meghan gets‘,” he wrote.

“This cut no ice with the staff who, according to reliable reports, began using rather unflattering nicknames for her within weeks of her arrival: ‘Me-Gain’, the ‘Duchess of Difficult’ and even ‘Di 2’ or ‘Di Lite’.”

“Tweedy, British, public-school” courtiers initially “didn’t know what to make” of Meghan, he claims.

Meanwhile, he says Kate Middleton was “very warm” to Meghan – but the Duchess of Sussex later struggled to deal with her lower status.

“When Meghan first moved into Harry’s cottage in the Kensington Palace grounds, Kate had been welcoming and both couples had got on well,” he said.

One insider told the author Kate is “one of the nicest royals” and “hasn’t let life in her extremely grand apartment at Kensington go to her head”.

“She is nice to her staff and she was very warm towards Meghan when she arrived,” he wrote.

“But tensions were bound to arise because Meghan inevitably had to accept that, although she is a duchess, she is not married to the next king.

“I think she has found that difficult to deal with.”

A spokesperson for Meghan has been contacted for comment.

The claims were made amid a challenging week for the royal.

Her estranged father Thomas Markle last night said he was planning to fly to the UK for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

It’s not yet known whether the Sussexes will attend after Harry refused to confirm a visit to reporters at the Invictus Games.

Thomas hasn’t seen his daughter, 40, since before her wedding, and has never met his two grandchildren.

Speaking live from his home in Rosarito Mexico, he branded the prince an “idiot” for blaming security issues for potentially stopping him.

He also said both he and Charles had been “ghosted” by their children.

ROYAL RUCKUS

However, Harry and Meghan did return to the UK for a secret visit ahead of the games in the Netherlands.

The pair met with the Queen and Charles, although did not see either William or Kate.

Elsewhere, the duchess was criticised by former president Donald Trump in an interview with Piers Morgan.

The ex politician predicted her marriage will “end up bad” and said she could leave “when she decides that she likes some other guy better” in an exclusive chat for TalkTV.

And there was further criticism for Harry after he made a comment about wanting to “protect” the Queen.

The barb about was aimed at her closest advisers amid lingering resentment about the Megxit Sandringham Summit, sources claim.
