THIS Morning guest Matthew Wright was slammed as “vile” after criticising the Queen and gushing of his “Republican” views.
The former The Wright Stuff host, 56, endured the wrath of royal-lovers on the ITV show as he slammed the fact the popular monarch, 95, enlists an assistant to “wear in” her shoes.
Matthew, 56, sat on the This Morning sofa and ranted, after it was revealed the Queen‘s loyal aide Angela Kelly will re-publish her book, The Other Side Of The Coin: The Queen, The Dresser, and The Wardrobe.
The tome will be re-released in May, featuring an extra segment on how the Royals coped in lockdown.
It will also depict the plans for Britain’s longest-serving monarch’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June.
Yet Matthew was less than impressed with the royals, and told viewers they were getting a “soft spin on how wonderful the Royals are.”
He continued: “It’s people in ivory towers spending our taxes.”
The broadcaster continued his fury over the shoe wearing in revelation, as he said: ” We [the public tax-payers] pay for some woman to walk a mile in her shoes, so her feet are more comfortable.”
He was told to “lighten up” by his This Morning co-stars, but fans at home dealt out stronger criticism.
One simply wrote: “Shut up Matthew!!! #thismorning.”
Another then posted: ” Shut up Matthew. Stop criticising our Queen!” as a third raged: “And now he’s dissing the Queen? You vile pig Matthew Wright
.”
Another commented: “Bore off Matthew. Seriously, like a broken record #ThisMorning.”
One then followed: “Alright Matthew you don’t like the royals we get it #ThisMorning.”
