What colour hat will The Queen wear at Royal Ascot? Bookies release odds for fan-favourite market on day one of festival

THE QUEEN is set to make her customary appearance at Royal Ascot on Tuesday – but it’s not her horses that are causing a betting frenzy.

One question above all others is of major interest to punters: what colour hat will she wear?

The Queen is 5-1 to wear a green hat on day one of Royal Ascot

Yes, the fan-favourite betting market is back for 2021 after William Hill released their odds.

The market actually caused a bit of a scandal back in 2008 after bookies were forced to suspend betting following a flurry of activity.

But it is back this year, with one colour above all others the clear favourite.

What colour hat will The Queen wear at Royal Ascot?

3-1 Blue

5-1 Green

6-1 Yellow, White, Purple

7-1 Grey

Will The Queen be at Royal Ascot?

It is not yet clear whether The Queen will attend every day of Royal Ascot.

She has missed the meeting only once previously in her 69-year reign.

That came last year when the whole event took place behind closed doors due to Covid.

The customary royal procession held before each day’s racing will not take place this year.
