SIMON Cowell gave an update on fan favorite Nightbirde ahead of the America’s Got Talent finale.
The British TV personality said he spoke to the singer, real name Jane Marczewski, and she said she’s doing better.
“As you know, my Golden Buzzer, tonight, couldn’t perform. But I did speak to her today,” Cowell told ET. “I said, ‘I’m calling you because I know how you must be feeling.'”
Simon admitted that he thinks Jane would have made it all the way if she stayed in the competition.
SIMON’S WINNER
“Would she have won tonight? I think she probably would, actually,” the AGT judge said. “And I think she knows that deep down.”
“Having said that, she knows she made the right decision,” he added.
During Tuesday’s show, Simon gave the audience an update on Jane.
“We are missing Jane tonight, I spoke to her earlier on,” he told host Terry Crews.
“The great news is she’s doing better! I know she would have been here at the finals and we’re all sending you, Jane, our love. We miss you. Just get better. We love you.”
It comes after Simon previously said Jane was too ill to make it to the final.
Simon told People of Nightbirde’s health: “Unfortunately, she is really ill and could not make the finals.
“However, it was always her dream for her music to be heard by millions. That’s what’s happened off the back of this.
“We talk about once every two weeks. It was a difficult conversation we had about does she enter the show or not. I know that she was very down.
‘GOING TO BE MISSED’
“I called her and I said that, ‘Honestly if I was in your position, I wouldn’t do it.’ Because you don’t need the stress right now. It’s just not worth it.
“You can always re-enter the show or you don’t have to because, at this point, when you put your music out, I think a lot of people are going to buy it. So why put yourself through it.
“You’re not letting anyone down because that’s what she kept saying to me. You’re not, you’re going to be missed but you’re not letting anyone down.”
Earlier this month, Nightbirde shared pics from a wine cruise outing.
In the caption, the America’s Got Talent contestant admitted she had been “feeling super sick.”
However, when she heard about the “wine cruise,” the NBC star went out to have some fun and managed not to “throw up into the harbor.”
In her Instagram Story, Nightbirde had a huge smile on her face as she hugged her pal.
‘LAUGHED SO HARD’
She captioned the photo: “Laughed so hard, my cancer shrunk.”
The singer/songwriter made a surprise return to the competition show after dropping out due to her deteriorating health.
Cowell, 61, broke down in tears and then told her: “Even though you haven’t competed, you’ve already won. As Terry [Crews] said, your clip has had such an impact on so many people and your courage and who you are.
“The most important thing is your well-being and your health and your recovery. And on behalf of all of us here, we’re sending you our love, our prayers, and we can’t wait to see you again soon.”
He concluded: “And thank you so much for auditioning on the show, and for singing such a beautiful song.”
The entertainer became an overnight sensation after her incredible audition with a video of her performance racking up a staggering 30 million views on YouTube.
