FORMER Love Island winners Millie Court and Liam Reardon have announced they have split – one year after leaving the villa.
The couple took to Instagram to confirm the news they had called time on their relationship as they move on to “new chapters” in their life – insisting they will “continue to be friends”.
Split rumours have been plaguing the pair for MONTHS
The couple confirmed they had gone their separate ways today
Millie, 25, and Liam, 22, walked out of the Love Island villa together last year, after pocketing the £50,000 winnings.
But today, just a year after they rose to fame together, they revealed they had “separated” in an emotional Instagram post.
While it came as a shock to many of Millie and Liam’s fans, others admitted they had spotted a number of signs they were planning to go their separate ways MONTHS ago.
It came as the couple had rarely been seen together since the start of the year – having often been spotted in different countries separately.
The couple were last seen together at a pal’s wedding in Portugal three weeks ago, where they posed for loved-up snaps together.
It marked the first time the couple headed away together since their brief weekend away to Paris, after rumours began to swell that the couple had split in April.
Their Parisian weekend marked the first trip the couple had enjoyed together since they went on holiday to the Maldives in January.
Before their trip to Portugal, they had only been pictured together on social media in brief times spent together in April and June.
Despite keeping fans up to date when they visited Dubai in December 2021, the pair began posting together less frequently.
Instead, the former couple had headed to a number of destinations SEPARATELY in recent months, spending weeks apart.
In May, Millie went on a wild girls’ holiday with her former Love Island co-stars in Ibiza – including Liberty Poole and Kaz Kamwi.
She could be seen posing on a diving board after arriving at the sun-soaked destination – showing off her bikini body.
Millie had previously headed out to the sun-soaked destination alongside Lucinda Strafford before returning for a second trip.
Meanwhile, Liam was seen heading out for a hike with his friend in Wales as the couple stayed apart for over a MONTH.
It came shortly after they spent six weeks apart – as Millie jetted off to Los Angeles for photoshoots, further fuelling split rumours.
Millie also attended a fashion launch event with fellow Islander Lucinda – but her beau Liam was nowhere to be seen.
Other eagle-eye fans think they’ve split because they noticed Liam recently followed a series of model and influencers online.
Fans also referred to Liam’s comments on the Heat podcast, where he said he had “nothing to wake up for” after winning Love Island with Millie.
“I’ve been put into Essex, no family no friends. Obviously, I’m with Millie, which is good… I’d wake up, but have nothing to wake up for,” he said.
Millie and Liam announced their split in an emotional Instagram post, insisting to their fans that they will remain “friends”.
Millie penned: “It’s been a tough decision and I am gutted but it’s ultimately what is best for us right now. Thank you to every single one of you for supporting our relationship.
“Nothing will ever take away from the amazing experience we shared in Love Island and the past year and I wish Liam all the best in everything he does.
“We’re both ready for new chapters and I’m excited for what’s next. Love, Millie.”
A source has now told the Mail that the pair had been growing apart for some time.
They said: “It’s been really hard for both Millie and Liam to come to this decision but after weeks of growing apart, they have come to the conclusion it’s the best thing for them both.
“There has been no drama or wrongdoing and they both still fully support each other and will remain close friends.”
Shortly after Millie and Liam announced their split today, dozens of fans took to Twitter to say they “weren’t surprised” – due to the amount of time they had spent apart.
“Am I the only one who isn’t surprised that Millie and Liam broke up?” one fan wrote to Twitter.
Another said: “Millie and Liam breaking up was the most predictable s**t ever,” as a third added: “I’m not surprised to be honest.”
Millie had frequently been holidaying without Liam
The couple had only been seen in rare social media appearances
