Anne Hegerty stunned by superfan’s Halloween costume – and their brutal dig at The Chase contestants

ANNE Hegerty was left stunned on social media after a fan dressed up as the iconic Chaser for Halloween.

Paul, who goes by @_paperbhoy online, absolutely nailed The Governess’s look as he donned an Anne-inspired grey pencil skirt and matching jacket in a post that has gone viral on Twitter.

The Chase fan Paul absolutely nailed The Governess’s look

Sharing photos from his home, Paul layered his blazer over a white blouse and a belt around the waist.

Upping the ante, he donned a pearl-like earrings and the Chaser’s signature bold red lip while he sported a short wig that resembled Anne’s coif.

Not only did he pose for the camera sporting Anne’s exact stern expression, Paul also had props to elevate the costume.

In a second shot, fans saw him sitting on top of his staircase under a red light with a board of different amounts of money representing the screen on the show.

Captioning the post, he hilariously wrote: “Happy Halloween to everyone except those who take the low offer”.

Paul’s fantastic costume was met with praise by many online, including The Governess who retweeted his photo alongside a crying laughing emoji.

The post comes days after Anne left The Chase viewers hot under the collar when she made a flirty remark to one of the contestants who ‘looks like Greg Rutherford’.

In an episode of the teatime favourite last week, 30-year-old Daniel from Scunthorpe tried his luck as one of the four contestants.

He appeared on the show in the hope of earning the money to take his family to Disney World in Florida, as well as being able to see an NFL game.

But when The Governness made her appearance, she couldn’t resist a bit of a flirt with the bodyshop manager, telling him: “Did you come here to quiz, or admire my body work?!”

A shocked Daniel responded: “A bit of both I think!”

Host Bradley Walsh looked blankly at the camera over the exchange, causing Anne to tell him: “You look unhappy, Brad.”

“Nah. That’s some chassis I’m thinking about,” he joked back.

Viewers on Twitter couldn’t quite believe it either – and couldn’t resist commenting on the ‘sexy’ contestant looking like Olympian Greg Rutherford.

After gaining £6,000 in his cashbuilder, Anne offered him up to £39,000 in the head-to-head.

He remained in his place in an attempt to be safer, but Anne proved too quick and soon knocked him out.

Unfortunately, he was one of two players knocked out – leaving social scientist Sarah, and 23-year-old drama teacher, Ashley.

In a nailbiting final chase, Anne unfortunately managed to catch up with the remaining players, with just three seconds remaining on the clock.
