Sally was presenting from Salford while Jon was in Sunderland
It follows the new that inflation is now at its highest level in 40 years and Jon also spoke to Jonathan Reynolds, the Shadow Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.
The interview took place at the National Glass Centre, and has Jon then started to hand back to Sally in the studio in Salford, she voiced her concern for him in his surroundings.
He joked: “So far, so good Sally – nothing has smashed in the National Glass Centre!”
Sally replied: “Just stay very still is my suggestion, Jon, don’t move anywhere.”
Jon said Sally “knows how clumsy he is” and his co-star replied: “You’re making me nervous!”
Jon then said: “Imagine how I feel” which made Sally laugh once again.
Earlier this week, Jon was slammed by BBC Breakfast viewers for playing “silly games” during the middle of the show.
During a segment on Ukraine, Jon spoke to BBC journalist in Kyiv, Hugo Bachega.
The seasoned broadcaster delivered a news report on the show last week when several explosions happened in the centre of Ukraine’s capital city.
Just over an hour later, after heading to shelter with his camera crew, the BBC re-established contact with Hugo.
Starting the conversation, Jon asked with a smile on his face: “Hugo, you’re back on the roof. Does that mean you’ve got the all clear?”
Those watching at home, however, were left with their head in their hands, with some claiming Jon wasn’t taking the segment seriously.
