Comedian Bob Mortimer Targeted in Deceptive Tinder Scheme

Beloved TV legend Bob Mortimer, known for his comedy and television appearances, has unwittingly become the face of a dating scam on popular app Tinder. Despite being happily married to his wife Lisa Matthews since 2015, Mortimer's identity has been used by fraudsters to create a fake profile under the alias name 'Kyle'.

Deceptive Profile Details

The fake profile, still active on the platform, falsely claims Mortimer is 50 years old and describes him as a 'big time texter' seeking a long-term companion. The scammers have even included interests such as yoga, meditation, theatre, and cafe-hopping, along with a humorous reference to Mortimer's show 'Gone Fishing' by listing fish as his pets.

Celebrities Targeted in Similar Scams

Mortimer is not the only celebrity to have been targeted in such a way. Laura Whitmore, Emma Louise Jones, and Sharron Davies have all faced similar scams, with fake accounts using their identities to deceive unsuspecting individuals on dating apps.

The Celeb Report has reached out to Tinder for a response to this deceptive use of Mortimer's identity.
