But she gets devastating news about next week in Emmerdale. How will she react?

The character portrayed by Samantha Giles was worrying multiple residents of the eponymous village when she began to display troubling behaviours.
Amid Naomi Walters’ trial, ITV viewers suspected she’d be in for a life-changing health diagnosis storyline and Bernice herself suspected she may have dementia.
But after a visit to the local GP, who happens to be Bernice’s former flame Liam Cavanagh, she was told she was actually going through the menopause.
Finding it hard to come to terms with the diagnosis, Bernice took it upon herself to form a support group for individuals going through a similar situation.
However, in scenes due to air next week, she’s hurt and embarrassed when members of the group start cancelling on the menopause meet-up.
Could there be a sinister reason behind it all?

In recent months, she has also managed to take charge of the B&B with the help of Bob Hope after Eric Pollard decided to retire.
But the Grange’s re-opening left Bernice in a tricky situation when she thought the harpist hired for the event was dead.
Fortunately for her, this turned out to be a misunderstanding.
While her love life has been left on the backburner, Bernice recently celebrated her daughter Gabby Thomas getting engaged to no-name nanny Nicky.
The pair revealed they were seeing each other which followed weeks of secrecy and led to Nicky being fired from Home Farm.
Fans of the Yorkshire-based drama are convinced that Nicky is hiding something huge along with Caleb Milligan.
But with Gabby ready to tie the knot with him and her menopause support group going downhill, could Bernice be convinced her time in the Dales has come to an end?
Actress Samantha Giles has been portraying the role for more than two decades and her exits have been sporadic.
Her first departure was aired on ITV in 2002 and she reappeared briefly in 2004.
Bernice returned to the village in 2012 before leaving seven years later.
She came back on a permanent basis in 2021.
