DRAMA is picking up a pace in the eponymous village as the Dingle clan try to figure out what to do about troublesome Caleb Milligan.
But after another misdeed, the schemer is met with Emmerdale tough man Cain Dingle and his legendary wrath.
Cain Dingle attacks his own brother Caleb Milligan next week in Emmerdale
The Dingles are struggling to forgive him for his misdeeds
And it’s set to go from bad to worse
All hell recently broke loose for Caleb Milligan (Will Ash) after his son Nicky backed out of his own wedding with Gabby Thomas.
The troublemaker’s true motives came to light and he’s left to pick up the pieces as the Dingles also turn their backs on him next week on ITV.
To make matters worse for him, his relationship with half-brother Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) goes downhill, despite their many efforts to get along in recent months.
Coming up next week, Cain Dingle is seething to find out Caleb’s taken up residence in the B&B.
Eager to prevent a fight and stop his father from getting into more trouble, Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) suggests they let the family decide Caleb’s fate.
That same afternoon, the Dingle Court convenes to debate Caleb – Belle, Cain, Charity, Chas, Moira, Nate, Noah, Sam, Zak.
The court is thrown on its head when the defendant himself makes a surprise appearance, resolute he’s staying in the village.
Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) is left on her own to deter Cain from revenge the following day.
Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi), on the other hand, rejects Caleb when he tries to apologise.
However, he soon finds comfort in a lonely Charity Dingle who is gutted to see Mackenzie Boyd and Chloe Harris getting close.
The Woolpack landlady (Emma Atkins) offers him a drink and, before long, they bond over wine and find solace in each other.
Later on, Charity and Caleb agree to keep their night together a secret.
But things only get worse from there for Caleb.
After a tense altercation with a humiliated Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham), Caleb invites Leyla to lunch in the pub.
Just as Leyla begins to forgive him, a bust up between Charity and Mackenzie leads to the shock revelation that Caleb spent the night with Charity and the information captures the attention of the entire pub.
A jealous Mack squares up to Caleb and all hell breaks loose.
Once home, Gabby’s upset after her run in with Caleb and Will Taylor (Dean Andrews) simmers with anger on her behalf.
Caleb remains level-headed despite the growing tension in the Dales and things get out of hand when he bumps into Cain.
The hot-tempered character lashes out when Caleb goads him, prompting Moira and Chas (Lucy Pargeter) to intervene.
Both women manage to pull Cain away from Caleb but the damage to the brotherly bond seems irreparable.
A while later, Caleb further enrages Mack (Lawrence Robb), who only came to apologise for yesterday.
Burning with fury, Mack ominously assures him there will be consequences.
Caleb has clearly outstayed his welcome when the villagers gather round at The Woolpack for a tense confrontation.
Squaring up to them all, Caleb takes verbal pot shots at each of them before getting kicked out of the pub by Chas.
Caleb walks away but unbeknownst to him, a mystery figure follows his every move.
That evening, out on a woodland ridge, Caleb’s blindsided when the unknown figure rushes out and pushes him over the edge.
Could Cain be responsible?
Emmerdale airs weeknights from 7.30pm on ITV.
