CAITLYN Jenner is “in talks to join Sex and the City” to make the reboot “more inclusive.”
The news comes as original star Kim Cattrall refuses to join the upcoming HBO Max series.
The Mirror reported that the 71-year-old is at the top of the list for being considered to make a potential cameo for the reboot.
A source said: “Caitlyn has been a media fixture in one way or another for going on 50 years. She’s really perfect for an appearance. They want new faces for the show, but they want people viewers actually know and care about too.”
While Caitlyn rose to fame as an Olympic athlete and for starring on Keeping Up With The Kardashians, she does have some acting credits under her belt.
She previously acted in the 1980 film Can’t Stop the Music and the classic cop show CHiPs, while she’s also set to appear in the upcoming indie sitcom Duke of the Valley.
Caitlyn’s potential casting comes after Kim, who played Samantha Jones on the series, has refused to reprise the role in the upcoming Sex And The City revival.
The original series, which ran on HBO from 1998-2004, also starred Sarah Jessica Parker as Carrie Bradshaw, Cynthia Nixon as Miranda Hobbes, and Kristin Davis as Charlotte York.
In addition to the original series, two Sex and the City movies came out in 2008 and 2010.
Kim’s refusal to reprise the role is likely due to her years-long public feud with Sarah.
Back in 2019, Kim told Daily Mail that she would “never” return to the franchise.
The 64-year-old actress explained: “You learn lessons in life and my lesson is to do work with good people and try and make it fun.”
She then slammed Sarah for “exploiting tragedy” by giving her condolences over Kim’s brother’s death.
Kim wrote on Instagram at the time: “I don’t need your love or support at this tragic time @sarahjessicaparker.
“My Mom asked me today ‘When will that @sarahjessicaparker, that hypocrite, leave you alone?’ Your continuous reaching out is a painful reminder of how cruel you really were then and now.”
She added: “Let me make this VERY clear. (If I haven’t already) You are not my family. You are not my friend. So I’m writing to tell you one last time to stop exploiting our tragedy in order to restore your ‘nice girl’ persona.”
Sarah has tried to shut down feud rumors in the past, while she recently said she doesn’t “dislike” Kim.
After Sarah announced the revival with a clip on Instagram, a fan commented that Kim won’t appear on the show because the two stars “dislike each other.”
Sarah, 55, fired back: “No. I don’t dislike her. I’ve never said that.
“Samantha isn’t part of this story. But she will always be part of us. No matter where we are or what we do. X.”
