Zoe is due to start filming this week and will appear on screen in early June.

Insiders tell The Celeb Report it’s a short run of episodes and the character she will play is being kept under wraps.

Rachel was a firm favourite with Emmerdale fans during her time on the soap.

Her character was a solicitor working for the Tate family.

She initially worked with Chris Tate (Peter Amory) to try and con his then-wife Charity Dingle out of her money.

The plan was for him to take his own life and frame Charity for his murder.

In another twist, Rachel became involved in a lesbian love affair with Chris’ sister Zoe Tate (Leah Bracknell), before becoming embroiled in a shock love triangle plot with Zoe and Scott Windsor (Ben Freeman).

Rachel then called time on her and Zoe’s relationship and left the village in 2005.

Eagle-eyed fans of the long-running soap also spotted actress Zoe pop up again in the Dales when she played another character in 2017.

She had a cameo as an irate woman called Eileen who gatecrashed Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) and Robert Sugden’s (Ryan Hawley) wedding.

The actress has also had minor roles in shows including Tracey Beaker and The Royal Today.
