PHILL Whittaker and Fiz Stape have started afresh in a new and fancy house away from the cobbles.
Next week in Coronation Street, the character decides to pop the question, believing her to be the only one for him.
Since his first arrival in Weatherfield, in July, 2021, Jamie Kenna’s Phill has intrigued fans of the long-running soap as he embarked on a romance with long-standing resident Fiz Stape (portrayed by Jennie McAlpine).
While viewers were happy to see the Underworld machinist move on from Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall), others were suspicious Phill could be hiding something.
But in upcoming scenes of the ITV drama, Phill is more than convinced he has found the love of his life.
When Tyrone calls at Phill’s house to collect Fiz’s things, he gets involved in a row with his rival and makes a grab for him.

Unfortunately, both men lose their balance and fall headlong into the wet cement on the patio.
In a panic, Phill scours the wet concrete, revealing he has lost an engagement ring, which Tyrone eventually finds.
Later on, Phill pulls out the ring and asks Fiz to marry him – but her response is likely to disappoint him.
This is due to her volatile daughter Hope (Isabella Flanagan) figuring out what Phill’s secret is.
In recent episodes, Tyrone was suspicious of Phill after spotting him with a mysterious envelope.
But it’s not until Hope borrows his laptop that his dark truth finally comes to light.
Sadly for him, Hope is known to retaliate in ruthless fashion and takes it upon herself to protect her mother with a drastic move.
Phill hears a giant digger being pulled into the driveway and dashes round the house to see what’s going on – only to find Hope aboard the digger.
Horrified, Phill sees Hope pulling a lever and the digger’s arm swings round, smashing the windscreen on his car.
With the truth finally being unravelled, could Phill and Fiz’s relationship be on the rocks?
