THINGS are growing increasingly tense at No.4 as Sally Metcalfe feels more and more left out by her husband Tim and his mother Elaine.
The Coronation Street stalwart, feeling unwelcome, is set to turn her back on the cobbles as she receives dreadful news about her younger sister Gina.
Sally (portrayed by actress Sally Dynevor) keeps crossing swords with her mother-in-law Elaine (Paula Wilcox) who is helping Tim (Joe Duttine) recover from his triple bypass surgery.
But after weeks of the trio spending time together under the roof, the Underworld machinist is at the end of her rope as her husband fails to give her the attention she craves for.
In upcoming scenes of the ITV soap, Sally first suggests they have a naughty game of landlords and tenants but is left furious when Elaine gets involved.

The latter points out that Tim needs to relax and that any sex should be out of the question as he does so.
Elaine makes it clear to Sally that she has no plans to leave as of yet when she reveals that she has signed up for a course on heart health.
Sally despairs and matters only get worse when she finds out that her sister Gina is not well.
Torn between looking after Gina and staying with Tim, Sally is pushed by Elaine to make family come first.
Feeling left out, Sally gets ready to leave Weatherfield as Elaine and Tim look forward to an afternoon playing a board game.
Sally has tried to keep the peace while Elaine has been living in her home.
But in a bid to send her a message about her overbearing ways, Sally pulled a film prank on her mother-in-law by claiming Tim’s favourite film was Terms of Endearment.
The movie, released to cinemas in the 1980’s focuses on a woman’s controlling relationship with her daughter.
However, while Sally has not made peace with Elaine’s presence in her home, the latter has been continuously bonding with her son.
Could this push Sally – a long-term resident in Coronation Street – further and further away?
Will Tim find a balance to keep both his wife and mother happy?
Or could this pave the way for Sally to leave as actress Sally Dynevor can also be seen in Dancing on Ice?
