WHILE accused of Seb Franklin’s murder, Kelly Neelan went through a tough time in Coronation Street.
Thankfully for her, her mother Laura Neelan will be making her way back to the cobbles as actress Kel Allen made the announcement on Instagram.
The widow of cold-blooded loan shark Rick Neelan has not been seen in Weatherfield since July, 2020.
But in a post shared with her Instagram followers, Kel revealed a snap of herself alongside on-screen daughter Millie Gibson.
Both women can be seen wearing padded ITV Studios jackets on the cobbled set of Coronation Street.

“Hello 2022! Back to it with my babba!”, Kel captioned.
Social media users rushed to the comment section, happy to know Laura has yet to permanently wave goodbye to Corrie.
“Can’t wait to see you two again in Corrie! Millie, you’re looking very well too”, wrote one user.
Another added: “Just like twins!!!”
A third social media user chimed in, although the actress originates from London: “It’s great to have you on this show & you do fly the flag for Wigan for us.”
A fourth user went on: “Can’t wait to see you both back on screen together!!!”
How will Kelly react to her mother’s return?
Laura saw her daughter for the last time when the latter was in court for Seb Franklin’s death.
Kelly was charged for the murder after the real perpetrator, Corey Brent, made a statement to the police incriminating her and saving himself.
But after the trial, Laura abandoned her daughter.
On a downward spiral, Kelly had to move to temporary accommodation after she was no longer able to live with Toyah and Imran.
Her legal ordeal ended in November, 2021, and after a heart-breaking suicide attempt.

After sleeping rough, and despite Nina Lucas and Seb’s mother Abi Webster being hostile towards her, Kelly found support and moved into the Alahan household.
She was also given a job at Trim Up North by Maria Connor.
But will her mother Laura’s return be the opportunity for both women to rekindle their relationship?
Or will Kelly be too hurt by her mother’s previous absence when she most needed it?
