Coronation Street’s Annabelle Tarrant unrecognisable 20 years after ditching acting to perform in holiday parks

CORONATION STREET star Annabelle Tarrant is unrecognisable 20 years since her soap exit.

The actress played Alice Watts, the daughter of Curly and Raquel Watts back in 2000.

The former actress looks very different now 20 years on

Annabelle, now 25, was just three-years-old when she joined the cobbles.

Alice was the daughter Curly never knew he had, until his estranged wife Raquel turned up on his doorstep on New Year’s Eve.

After landing the soap role, Annabelle’s proud parents told Worcester News: “We are really proud.

“We were thrilled when we heard she was given the part.”

The former child star looks very different now after ditching the acting world for a new career.

Annabelle was former pupil at Beaumont Leys School and Brooksby Melton College studying Musical Theatre.

She went onto focus on a career in dance and modelling.

The former actress is now a professional dancer and singer with experience as a performer in hotels and holiday parks.

She previously wrote on her work bio: “I am a graduate of Addict Dance Academy where I studied a range of dance styles from Jazz and Contemporary to Commercial and Hip Hop.

“From there I completed the end of a season as a Dancer/Animator at the Blue Lagoon Resort in Kos, Greece.

“I then spent a season at Trabolgan holiday village as a Dancer, Entertainer and Character performer.

“While this year I have had the pleasure of being a Dancer/Singer/Animator at the Louis Paphos Breeze hotel in Cyprus for 6 months.”

It comes after Corrie star Martin Hancock is due to return to our screens as Spider Nugent very soon.

But the soap star looks totally different to what people remember him as 19 years ago on the ITV show.

Martin will be returning to Corrie as the much-loved eco warrior in July this year.

The actor joined the ITV show in 1997.

His alter-ego, who was married to Toyah Battersby, stayed in Weatherfield until 2000.

He later made some brief returns in 2001 and 2003.

Speaking about his return, Martin said: “Having the opportunity to walk back onto the cobbles is fabulous, I’m so excited to be seeing a lot of old friends and picking up what Spider has been up to.

“I’ve always wanted to come back at some point and it just felt like this is the right time. I’m eternally grateful to Iain [Macleod] for the opportunity.”

“His return heralds an enthralling new story for Toyah, who will be embroiled in a mess of guilt and secrecy when Spider arrives. Will he be her saviour or the thing that ruins her life forever?”

After his stint on Corrie, Martin went on to star in shows such as Doctors, Holby City, M.I High, Demons and most recently, In the Long Run.

Kingdom of Heaven, Hannibal Rising, 7 Lives, The Physician and Closer to the Moon are just a few.

The star has also appeared on BBC’s Celebrity Masterchef.
