Coronation Street's Claire Sweeney reveals painful Dancing on Ice injury after co-star Amber Davies suffers accident

Coronation Street star Claire Sweeney has opened up about a painful injury she sustained while training for Dancing on Ice, just as her co-star Amber Davies suffered a nasty accident. The soap actress is set to appear on the popular skating show next year, but it seems things haven't been going smoothly for her.

A rocky start

Claire Sweeney has given fans a glimpse into her training experience ahead of the show's debut, and it's clear that it's not all glitz and glamour. In a surprising revelation, she shared that she's already suffered an injury in just the first week. "My first session I hurt my wrist, otherwise I'm okay at the moment," Claire told The Celeb Report exclusively.

Fighting the fear

Claire also admitted that her biggest challenge on the show has been conquering the fear that grips her every time she steps onto the ice rink. "The biggest challenge is fighting the fear when it gets a grip of you, that's what happens to me. I can do stuff and then suddenly fear just grips me when it's least expected, it's horrible and then I've got to try and shake it off and carry on," she said. However, she reassured fans that she's making progress with lifts and other skating skills.

Playing catch-up

The actress revealed that she is "two weeks behind" the other contestants due to a "massive storyline" she had on Coronation Street. However, she is determined to catch up and is working hard with her partner Colin, who was on the show last year with The Vivienne. Claire mentioned that she sees Ryan Thomas, Greg Rutherford, and Miles Nazaire as her biggest competition on the show, but believes that each contestant has their own journey to pursue.

Amber Davies also faces injury

This injury revelation comes soon after Claire's co-star Amber Davies also suffered an accident on Dancing on Ice. The former Love Island star took to Instagram to update her fans, revealing that she tore a vital muscle. Amber, who is currently starring in the UK touring production of the Pretty Woman Musical, issued an urgent update on social media.

It looks like the road to the Dancing on Ice competition is not an easy one for Claire Sweeney and her fellow contestants. As they continue to train and prepare for the show, fans will be eager to see how they overcome these challenges and deliver top-notch performances on the ice.
