Coronation Street’s Emma Brooker to get the man of her dreams in surprising and ‘massive’ new storyline

CORRIE’S Emma Brooker is set to get the man of her dreams in a new surprising and “massive” storyline.

The bubbly character – played by actress Alexandra Mardell – hasn’t had much luck in the romance department since her time on the Cobbles but that all looks set to change.

Emma hasn’t had much luck in her love life, seen here crying on dad Steve’s shoulder

Speaking exclusively to The Celeb Report, Corrie boss Iain MacLeod revealed the Rover’s barmaid has a sexy new year in store as he teased new storylines for the soap.

He said: “There’s what I think will be a really brilliant storyline for Emma but I can’t talk about it in a lot of detail without giving it away.

“There’s a massive new love story for Emma. Emma wants her prince charming and she’s going to get her wish, but it’s going to be a very interesting version of her wish.

“She’s going to get the man of her dreams.”

David Platt used the bubbly barmaid to help him get over an ordeal

She also got dumped by Chesney who then went on to have babies with her mate Gemma

Since joining Corrie, Alexandra’s character has been exceptionally unlucky in love after having her heart broken by several men.

First there was David Platt, who used her to get over his rape ordeal, then Chesney Brown, who is now the father of quads with his new partner – and Emma’s good friend – Gemma Winter.

Viewers thought she’d found a goodun’ in Seb Franklyn but he was more interested in his ex, Alina Pop.

Alexandra, who won the Best Newcomer gong at the British Soap Awards last year, revealed in a previous interview that she felt it was Chesney who had really broken her heart.

Emma was also in a relationship with Seb but he was still in love with his ex Alina

Looking back on her character’s love life, she said: “Chesney was Emma’s everything. She wanted to be with Chesney, and because she is such good friends with Gemma, it was the hardest situation for her.

“Emma and Gemma were such good friends, she had to let him go. Emma and Chesney were a nice little pairing, but, hey ho, it didn’t work out!”
